CURRENT EVENT: 2018 Fort van Lier

2018 Fort van Lier

The third round of the 2018 Pro Archery Series will take place at Fort van Lier, near Antwerp in Belgium over the weekend of 18/19 August.

The two biggest stars of international archery, Mike Schloesser and Stephan Hansen return for another epic battle around the former WWI fort.

They may also have to keep an eye on the other competitors too. 2017 Fort van Lier event winner Thomas van Eil makes a welcome return, plus Nico Wiener and Reginald Kools have both proved themselves capable in recent events.

Looking for a clean sweep of Pro Archery silverware in 2018 is Alternative store shooter Hope Greenwood. She beat Heather Gore in Mullenborn and Toja Ellison in Esch-sur-Alzette but in Belgium she will have both of them together as well as Ivana Buden and a larger than usual ladies field.

The action starts at 9am (Central European Time) on Saturday 14th July. Check out our web site for full event coverage and social media for pre-event build up and much more.

We will have LIVE Scoring, every archer's scorecard, over 4 hours of extensive video programming, course maps and much more...

Previous Event 2017 Alternative Welsh Masters

    2017 Alternative Welsh Masters

After a three year absence, Toja Ellison returned to the Pro Archery Series in Wales and put in a storming performance to dominate the ladies class despite a turn in the weather on day 2, and take her first victory in the Pro Archery Series. Hope Greenwood finished an excellent second with Ivana Buden in third place.

In the gents class we has a very close battle between Tim Gillingham and Domagoj Buden with the lead swapping several times during Sunday. With the archers level after the final target the winner was determined by a tie breaker, a repeat of the final target. Domagoj held his nerve despite blustery conditions to take his first Pro Archery Series victory. Christopher Perkins making his Pro Archery Series debut finished in third.

Both Toja and Domagoj took a clean sweep of the major prizes with both taking the Gripper Award for leading after day one and each taking home an additional 400 EURO. Also, the Beiter Accuracy Award went their way too with a Dauchingen Devil soft today and 500 EURO each awarded after two tough days of competition.

Previous Event 2017 Fort van Lier

    2017 Fort van Lier

The 2017 Fort van Lier event took place at the extraordinary Belgian venue on 12/13 August.

Congratulations to Ivana Buden on taking her third victory from three events in 2017. She had to fight for it though. Inge Enthoven was the overnight leader taking the 400 EURO Gripper Award. On day 2 Ivana stormed into the lead and finished a massive 12 points ahead of Heather Gore, with Inge dropping back into third place. Ivana also took home the 500 EURO Beiter Accuracy Award and Dauchingen Devil.

Dave Cousins was the clear favourite for gents class honours and a clean sweep of the trophies was expected. Despite a broken foot and some clear discomfort he ended day 1 with a healthy 3 point lead over Thomas van Eil. On day 2 the foot was feeling less painful but the lead didn't extend, instead Thomas kept himself in contention with the lead swapping or tied throughout the day. On the final target Thomas was just one point ahead, with the fearsome 80 yard aerial shot remaining. With a trilling performance Thomas held his nerve to take the biggest victory of his career against the world's greatest field archer. Dave had the consolation of winning the 400 EURO Gripper Award and the 500 EURO Beiter Accuracy Award and also some well earned satisfaction from a fellow Prime shooter taking the victory as he has worked hard with the factory to raise it to a world beating level.

Domagoj Buden took third place for Bowtech to make it a good weekend for the Buden family.

The final event this year will be the 2017 Alternative Welsh Masters on 2/3 September.

    Previous Event 2017 Doinker Masters

    2017 Doinker Masters

The 2017 Doinker Masters took place in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg on 15/16 July.

Congratulations to Stephan Hansen on his second victory at Esch-sur-Alzette making him unbeaten in Luxembourg in the Pro Archery Series. Stephan set a searing pace on day 2 to pull away from joint overnight leader Mike Schloesser scoring 299/300 on an incredibly challenging course.

Ivana Buden was also peerless in the ladies class on day 2. Equipment problems on day 1 meant an overnight 4th place and a late night practice session. On day 2 she swept past Mikey McGhee and Jamie Van Natta to take her 11th Pro Archery Series victory.

Isabell Thun showed the depth and quality of the ladies class with 53 X's ahead of Mikey McGhee with 47 X's and debutant Christina Ruter with 42 X's. Isabell took home the 500 EURO Beiter Accuracy Award and Dauchingen Devil soft toy,

In the gents class, Jesse Broadwater and Mike Schloesser were tied on 90 X's after 44 targets resulting in a shoot-off single arrow decider on the final target. Jesse was closest to the middle so he won the Beiter award.

The prizes were well spead in Luxembourg. Mikey McGhee and Mike Schloesser were the latest recipients of the new Gripper Award. A 400 EURO cash prize for the top lady and top gent after the first day of competition.
